The award is being presented for the third time this year and aims to raise the profile of women in research and the energy sector.
Almost 600 conference participants applauded Martje Timmermann at the spring conference of the DGMK and ÖGEW. She received the third Study Prize awarded by She Drives Energy (SDE), the DGMK network for the advancement of women in the energy sector. The award, which is endowed with 500 euros, aims to raise the profile of women in research and industry.
When presenting the award, DGMK Managing Director Gesa Netzeband highlighted Martje Timmermann's thesis at Kiel's Christian Albrecht University, which contributes to the decarbonization of heat supply. The award winner is researching the potential of large-scale heat storage.
Martje Timmermann presented her field of research in a separate lecture on the final day of the two-day spring conference. On May 8, she spoke on “Quantifying the dynamic efficiency of high-temperature aquifer heat storage systems.”
