In 2027, the Pipeline Technology Conference will bring the COPEX Seminar and the PODS Global Summit to Berlin for the first time. The program is expected to be finalized by the end of the year.
The 22nd Pipeline Technology Conference (ptc) will take place in Berlin from April 26 to 29, 2027, and, for the first time, will incorporate two independent industry events into its program. On April 26, Concawe’s COPEX seminar and the PODS Global Summit Berlin will meet at the Estrel Congress Center.
COPEX is aimed at operators of European oil transmission pipelines. Concawe has been collecting data on the safety and environmental performance of European oil pipelines since 1971. This includes, among other things, information on leaks and their causes as well as inspections. For the 2022 reporting year, the statistics included data from 62 operators with 137 pipeline systems and a total length of 33,218 kilometers.
The Pipeline Open Data Standard Association (PODS) develops and maintains an open data model for the management of pipeline asset, inspection, and integrity data.
According to the organizer, more than 100 pipeline operators send delegations to the ptc each year. Overall, the conference reports more than 1,000 participants from over 50 countries and more than 100 exhibitors for 2027.
Abstracts of no more than 300 words can be submitted until September 30, 2026. The internationally composed ptc Advisory Committee reviews the proposals. According to the organizer, the contributions should address technical and operational topics, research and development, new technologies, or case studies; commercially oriented submissions are not intended. The accepted contributions are to be announced on December 1.
April 26 is designated for training courses as well as COPEX and the PODS Summit. From April 27 to 29, the actual conference and exhibition program will follow, with technical sessions, panel discussions, as well as round tables for operators and regulatory authorities. The detailed program is to be published at the end of the year.
